she has positively pointed me

to start thinking differently.

and I love her so dearly for it because sometimes you find yourself in a rut and going the opposite direction. Only seeing the rain, or the flat iron burn on your right index finger, or your insanely busy schedule... or lack of one, the new found dent in your car, the busted screen in your front door, the missing toaster (!), all the milk is gone...again, the monstrous size of my gas tank, your messy house, and then the slight intimidation of planning a wedding, starting a new job, and loving my boyfriend, family, and friends well.

I could keep listing these little and big things that have started to cause me to think negatively and drag me down. But that's the thing about negatives. The list will only grow unless they're counter-acted and replaced with recognition and gratitude of Christ and what he's done...of all the good sitting right there. Kyrie anna ruth has reminded me to put that back into my day.

So here's to Kyrie. to mangoes. picnics. good sermons. cat power. and trees outside our houses.

Go check out her blog: www.kyriehoward.blogspot.com
it will encourage!

all i know

is I love this photo and i love these people.

and in about 48 hours it will it will only be the right half of the photo.
now mark my word, I quite love the right half of this photo so much
so that I get to call him my husband is just a couple short months.

about the left half of this photo.
THEY LIVE ALL THE FREAKING WAY IN COLORADO!!!
WHY?!
So the right half of the photo can always miss the left half.
and visa versa.

Eric visited last week and then he left and Michael and I already feel
quite annoyed with how cool he is and the fact that we only get glimses
of it. And now Kyrie is leaving after an entire summer and I absolutely dread
giving her up all over again... I have so valued a summer with her.. to be
intertwined with the affairs and thoughts of her life and her with mine.
When we live apart, the intertwining begins to loosen because each day becomes
two.

her's and mine. 1 and 2.
plus eric and michael's. 3 and 4.
oh dear. 4 days.

But again, all I know is I love this photo and I dearly love these people
and like I told Michael the other day.... at least Kyr's my sister so eric and her
won't be the kinds of people we may or may not get a postcard from every
other year. No... we will see them. Lots.

That's what I know.
I will miss you, Kyrie.
