this is the sisterhood

We came together last Sunday. There was a crab feast at my grandipop’s and grandimary’s. Lobie, vince, and keeks – we missed you. You have no excuse for missing it. The reunion was unique because aunt Pamela brought all her jams and dj’d this party. Pumpin’ up Akon, pussycat dolls, and the insanely wonderful Timberlake from her hot green element in grandipop’s driveway, we danced our way through the humid afternoon. The cars driving by in the normally wholesome and quiet neighborhood starred. We waved energetically. Aunt Pamela danced hard and Brae was right behind her. Little Jasper stood on the side nodding his head back and forth. We kept trying to get him to pull the moves he does at home but his shyness had the better of him.

Three favorite dancing songs:

1. Akon’s “don’t matter”
2. Pussycat doll’s “Stickwitu”
3. Cascada’s “everytime we touch”

grandipop was gettin all worked up cause i was taking so many pictures. then i showed him this one and he laughed.

Man! We did miss out! We had a wedding to go to. I've heard through the grape vine that there will be another one in August. We hope to make it to that one, it'll be the one and only weekend that we have open for the rest of the summer. Seesh.

anyways, missing you! Kiko

as long as i've known you all--my whole life, that is-- howard crab feasts were always this mysterious fascination to me. "we're going to a crab feast," an eight-year-old chalice would say, and i would sigh, "oohhh!"

--it's rather like alice's wonderland. i can read about it and hear about it all i like, but never having actually been there, i can only imagine what it's like. but even if i did step through the looking glass, i still couldn't fully know and understand it, because i'm not a real, live howard.

oh your comment made me laugh annie...

people, anyone who wants to have a wonderful swing come to my grandipops! he's got the best swing i've ever been on. you swing off of a platform and go soaring over this berry bush at the far end of the yard. you get that dropping sensation in your stomach too. it's really wonderful because no matter how old i get i can just climb on that swing, kick off and feel like i'm seven again
